T.A.C.O. Tuesday | Lyrically Inspired

"...this world has picked me enough times for it's madness vase for me to know sanity is not running from the window when the lightning comes. It's turning thunder into grace, knowing sometimes the break in your heart is like the hole in the flute. Sometimes it's the place where the music comes through."

I've been wanting to let lyrics inspire an art journal page for some time now--- what better day than T.A.C.O. Tuesday?!

I chose my favorite line from Andrea Gibson's Gospel Salt and opened my journal to a page I had painted with some extra purple paint.

"Sometimes the break in your heart is like the hole in the flute. Sometimes it's the place where the music comes through."

Then came some dimension with the modeling paste and pink paint for the heart stencil. And some gesso for the leaves climbing up the left side of the page.

I outlined the hearts with a white deco paint marker, I cut out strips of scrap card stock and wrote the lyrics on them. Regular matte gel medium 'glued' the lyrics to my page and then a black Stabilo All Pencil to outline the lyrics and add the music notes.

I masked the girl with turquoise paint and then found the star stencil to use the leftover turquoise.

(I never waste color.)
