Headshots, Hurley & Hyperbole

No..no..no.. I was only kidding about the 'hyperbole', I was just in want of some alliteration in the title.

I've got some headshots coming up and wanted to experiment with lighting.  Since I'm not planning on making a business out of headshots, it doesn't make a lot of sense to break the bank with kino flos (though I have filed them away in the "gear lust" folder I keep in my brain).  However, if you're the handy type and have some free time, you can just get all DIY on the kino flo.

I know this image could use an accent light, but I caught this while experimenting with one strobe and really loved the expression.  One of Peter Hurley's best tips is to "give non sequitur" directions.  Here, I told Nikki to "look perplexed"... clearly this tip is golden.
